My Personal Statement

Through the years I've realized that our children are not being prepared to take over and run our country. The education system needs educators who are driven, and want to ensure that our future leaders are capable. It is our responsibilities as adults to ensure that our children are ready to face all task that will be set before them. Right now we need to begin leaders, doctors, teachers, and well rounded citizens so that our future generations will also be able to produce the same. It's time for business, it's time to sculpt their minds. Are you up for the task???

Sample Lesson #1

THIRD GRADE WRITING ASSIGNMENT AN INTRODUCTION TO SMARTBOARD

OBJECTIVE: Smartboard can be very useful in our classroom. In this writing assignment we will use our smartboard to help us find mistakes, and make corrections. We will work in groups and the whole class will take part in this learning activity. We will work on this project for one week.

I will be helping you with your spelling, punctuation, and grammer using smartboard. This will help everyone to realize different mistakes, and thus enhance your writing ability.
TASK: Write a story as a group. One person will write one paragraph, and pass it to the next person in your group. You will take off from where the person before you has left off. Continue doing this until everyone in your group has written a paragraph. Focus on getting your ideas written down. Do not use tools, such as dictionaries, and thesaurus.

On Friday we will view each groups story on smartboard. As a class we will find mistakes and correct them on smartboard. We will insert the corrections on smartboard this way everyone will benefit from what is being done.

The stories will then be handed back to the group, and we will have a publishing party. The stories will be published on the bulletin board outside of our classroom.

This will be effective because at this age all the children are making spelling errors, and leaving out periods, or putting question marks in the wrong place. Using smartboard, everyone can see the story, and help the group with mistakes that they have made. It will be easier to put the corrections in using smart board. I can then print them, and have them ready for the publishing party.

Sample Lesson #2

GET THE PICTURE?
A LEARNING ASSIGNMENT TO GET 6TH GRADERS FAMILIAR WITH THE FLASH ON DIGITAL CAMERAS

It is important to know when to, and when not to use the flash on your digital camera. Lighting is very important in taking pictures. The objective of this assignment is to familiarize ourselves on when to use the flash, and when not to use the flash on our digital cameras.

Procedure:
1. On a sunny day stand outside, and take a picture of an object, or person (which ever you choose) with your flash on.
2. Take a picture of that same object, or person in that same spot with the flash off.
3. Now go inside and in a dimly lit room, take a picture of an object or person with the flash on.
4. Take a picture of the same object, or person in that same dimly lit room, with the flash off.
5. Develop all four (4) pictures.
6. Write down what you see, and the difference that the flash being on and off at different light settings made.
7. Place all four photos on a board to be presented to the class with your conclusion as to when it is important to use the flash.

For this assignment you will work in pairs of two. One will be responsible for the outside pictures, and conclusion, and the other for the pictures inside. Make sure to come to an agreement.
