THIRD GRADE WRITING ASSIGNMENT AN INTRODUCTION TO SMARTBOARD
OBJECTIVE: Smartboard can be very useful in our classroom. In this writing assignment we will use our smartboard to help us find mistakes, and make corrections. We will work in groups and the whole class will take part in this learning activity. We will work on this project for one week.
I will be helping you with your spelling, punctuation, and grammer using smartboard. This will help everyone to realize different mistakes, and thus enhance your writing ability.

TASK: Write a story as a group. One person will write one paragraph, and pass it to the next person in your group. You will take off from where the person before you has left off. Continue doing this until everyone in your group has written a paragraph. Focus on getting your ideas written down. Do not use tools, such as dictionaries, and thesaurus.
On Friday we will view each groups story on smartboard. As a class we will find mistakes and correct them on smartboard. We will insert the corrections on smartboard this way everyone will benefit from what is being done.
The stories will then be handed back to the group, and we will have a publishing party. The stories will be published on the bulletin board outside of our classroom.
This will be effective because at this age all the children are making spelling errors, and leaving out periods, or putting question marks in the wrong place. Using smartboard, everyone can see the story, and help the group with mistakes that they have made. It will be easier to put the corrections in using smart board. I can then print them, and have them ready for the publishing party.
